(E)-3-Hydroxy-N′-(2-hydroxybenzylidene)-2-naphthohydrazide

The title compound, C(18)H(14)N(2)O(3), is an aroylhydrazone with an approximately planar structure [dihedral angle of 15.27 (13)° between the benzene ring and the naphthyl ring system], stabilized by intra-molecular N-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. Inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds with the keto group as acceptor lead to strands along [100]. In terms of graph-set analysis, the descriptor on ...

3-Hydroxy-N′-(2-methoxybenzylidene)-2-naphthohydrazide

In the title Schiff base compound, C(19)H(16)N(2)O(3), the dihedral angle between the mean planes of the benzene ring and the naphthyl ring system is 0.8 (2)°. The mean plane of the hydrazide group forms dihedral angles of 2.0 (2) and 2.2 (2)°, respectively, with the mean planes of the benzene ring and the naphthyl ring system. A strong intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond is present. In the cry...

3-Hydroxy-N′-isopropylidene-2-naphthohydrazide

The title Schiff base, C(14)H(14)N(2)O(2), is close to being planar (r.m.s. deviation for the non-hydrogen atoms = 0.052 Å) and an intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring. In the crystal, the moleucles are linked by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, giving rise to helical chains propagating along the c axis of the tetra-gonal unit cell.

In the title compound, C(18)H(14)N(2)O(3), the dihedral angle between the planes of the naphthalene and phenyl ring systems is 2.64 (2)°. Mol-ecules are engaged in π-π stacking (mean interplanar distance = 3.339 between naphthalene rings and 3.357 Å between benzene rings )and hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

3-Hydroxy-N′-(5-hydroxy-2-nitrobenzylidene)-2-naphthohydrazide

The mol-ecule of the title compound, C(18)H(13)N(3)O(5), displays an E configuration with respect to the C=N double bond. The dihedral angle between the benzene ring and the naphthyl system is 1.1 (2)°. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are linked through inter-molecular N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.
